OverDrive: eBooks & audiobooks App Reviews

Have used this app for several years but since I added it to both Ipad Pros it sometimes does not load pages completely and it NO LONGER allows samples of library books - this is most frustrating!

App crashes constantly. Gives error "error starting playback" when attempting to listen to audiobooks. Have to shut down iPhone and restart just to get it to work. Support is nonexistent and unhelpful. If there was a different option Id be switching apps.

I love this app! My local library allows 10 items per month. You can borrow Ebooks or audiobooks. Since I had my son a few months ago I find I dont have the time or ability to sit down and read a book. For this reason I have come to love audiobooks. I can be doing the dishes, feeding my son, etc and be able to listen to a book at the same time. Its even great for my daughter as I can put on something age appropriate and we can both listen. The convenience of not having to physically leave the house to borrow a book is priceless. I like the app itself, I can change the speed of the speech (I like it a bit faster), bookmark to continue later, fast forward, rewind, etc. Finding titles is very easy. I would highly recommend this app. I can see even utilizing CarPlay or similar to listen while driving. I find it unenjoyable to read on my phone, but it would be great on an iPad or tablet. Just a great app!!

I use Overdrive every day to listen to audiobooks. It occasionally has problems but there is ongoing effort made to keep it running well and problems are corrected in updates. The online electronic library is an excellent resource.

I used to love this app. But now It is less than useless. Overdrive hasnt worked for me in more than a year. Ive tried every fix in the help menu and it still refuses to open my books. I can download them, but I cant load them into the app. I would give it no stars if I could.

I keep trying to put books on it and it continually crashes, wont let me download a single thing. Unimpressed

Ive been using overdrive for years on different devices and Ive had very few problems. Love it.

I clearly adore this app. I use it every day for audiobooks while I am at work. Once I worked out the interface with my library login it has been an intuitive godsend. Cant comment on downloading and reading text because I dont use it for that on my phone.

Since the last Apple update, 3/4 of the books I borrow are unreadable due to the microscopic font. I contacted my library as directed, but their suggestions I had already tried & were no help. I see many recent reviews of Overload with the same problem; are you dealing with it? I am using an old Kobo instead which is unreliable, but there is no issue with font....

Since the last update I cant increase the font size on my library books. Very disappointed!

It allows me to listen to audiobooks from my local public library for free - eliminating a lot of spending on Audible.com - awesome! Some minor usability issues related to navigation of the library, but not a huge deal.

Its an easy to use app - I love it as its like going to the library without actually going.

Found it easy to use and I love not incurring fees for overdue books that the kids have misplaced! Thank you! :)

Im been using this app for more than a year now & its great. But lately, there is an issue with the fonts size. Suddenly, it downloads the book i borrow from the library with a small fonts, its hard to read and it cant be change. Wonder if something can be done with it.

Ive been using this for a couple years now, and its great. All the books I download load pretty quickly and work fine once I open them. Definitely a 10 books I never would have read otherwise out of 10 recommendation if you like reading or even listening to books.

Highly recommended for book lovers

I have always loved this app, but with the newest updates the font is way too small. Please fix!!
