OverDrive: eBooks & audiobooks App Reviews

Worked fine before the upgrade. Awkward, and tedious, but it worked. Now the font is so small I cannot read my books.

I love this app. I am able to connect to a local and regional library to check out books, place holds and browse the catalog, all from the comfort of my own home (or wherever I have internet access on my iPad). I can read or listen to audio books wherever I am, regardless of access, as long as the book has been downloaded. Im like a kid in the candy store!

Great idea of an app. Works efficiently. Lots of audio books and ebooks.

So awesome that you can get books for free from your library. I find the app easy to use and highly functional. Really like that you can add multiple libraries.

Overdrive is a good app to read and listen to audiobooks and ebooks on. The only problem is that there are limited titles and you have to recommend the titles they dont have to be added then wait months. The app is very organized but it could be better and improved. Overall, it is really good app.

Im not sure when I first used this app, but Ive been a fan for many, many years. Since becoming a mom Ive found it very hard to keep up the voracious reading habit Ive had since I was little. I spent years trying to use CDs but theyre so limiting. Since Ive gotten this app, Ive gone back to reading books everyday and because I can listen while doing household chores Im able to read books I probably wouldnt have picked up when I only read paper books. Overdrive consistently has the best selection of the four audiobook apps I have. Some of it is due to the wonderful Maryland library system but if overdrive didnt offer the books, I couldnt read them! Thanks overdrive for allowing my inner peaceful mother to come out as I can almost enjoy myself while doing the dishes! The app has had its ups and downs but overall Ive been pleased with it. As bugs come up they get fixed and I appreciate the hard work of everyone involved.

Using Kindle until Overdrive fixes adjustment for font size. Cannot read the small font size and Overdrives recommended "fixes" do not work.

Its a little slow but ...once you master the app...you get free books to read and listen to.

I love this app its my favorite

Overdrive lets me read or listen to a huge selection of books from my local library. The reading part works great. The listening to audiobooks has a couple of bugs. Worst- once in a while it just dies and you have to delete the app and download the book again. Also needs a fix for when you renew a book. You have to delete it and download it again - a real hassle if its a long book and you have slow internet.

Not intuitive. Hard to get started, glad I got a handout from the librarian and even then, it took me a long time before I no longer needed it. Advanced search doesnt retain the previous information to refine your search criteria. Returning books is not obvious. I shouldnt complain as it is nice to be able to simply checkout books from home.

I use this app almost daily and I have to say, its gotten so much better over time. Ive had the app for 4+ years and Ive seen a lot of improvements that make it easier to use and less clunky. I find t convenient and easy.

Its great to access library books wherever I am, even on the road. I use Overdrive on my phone for audiobooks and on my NOOK for reading books. Only issue Ive had is that when I come back to the audiobook, it has sometimes rewound itself. Also, Ive had issues with sections of books not being there. Not a huge deal, but irritating if Im in a hurry. Also, it would be nice when searching if there were a "do not include" button in the advanced search. For example, search for historical fiction, I would like to exclude everything that is also classified as a romance.

I enjoyed the app!

I enjoy many of the books from Overdrive. Since their last update the chapter changes have been unstable in audio books. The books transition takes you to the beginning of the book or to an already read chapter. The bookmarks also seem to follow the chapter skip.

Ive been happy with the free app for free library books. The library books of course arent truly free, but since Im going to have to pay the taxes anyway, I might as well use the service at no additional charge.

I have a iPhone 6s Plus and since this update I have to log in EVERYTIME I try to log in to my audiobooks. I dont want to have to look up my library card # and pin every time I want to listen to a book. Never had this problem before and Ive read/listened to over 100 books, just started after this update. Please get this fixed

Free Books and enormous selection. How could I possibly say anything bad? The app works and thats all that matters!
